During this informative and engaging activity, in the lead up to Midterm Elections 2022, our children will learn how to express their opinions and vote for their favorite pizza topping. To prepare for this activity students will consider their favorite pizza topping. On the day of this activity, the children will gather in the kitchen to introduce themselves and share their favorite pizza toppings and why they chose it. We will discuss healthy food choices/toppings and how it can change the nutritional value of a meal. Having "campaigned" for their favorite toppings, children will vote on which toppings will be used. Unbeknownst to the kids, the Moms will vote for a less than desirable topping, like anchovies. The large number of kids voting for something they don't want is a powerful reminder of the importance of voting. Afterwards, the children will have the opportunity to prepare a pizza using the winning toppings.
